There are minors who are addicts, and they deserve to be able to seek support for their condition. I understand that aestheticizing that condition through use of blinkies can be a part of seeking that support.
However, I still consider substances an adult topic, even when engaged in by minors, and I release my blinkies as posts on social media, which is interactive. Allowing minors to use the contents of my social media posts about substances therefore opens me up to interacting with minors about adult topics, which is not a position I wish to find myself in.
I additionally believe that it can be dangerous for minors to disclose sensitive details about themselves online, as it can be easier for predatory adults (or even abusive peers) to know what vulnerabilities that minor has to be taken advantage of. There is a fine line between using technology to get help one couldn't get otherwise and using it to put oneself in danger, and I feel more comfortable if the material I create is brought nowhere near that line, especially considering that artists can become controversial if their work becomes associated with controversial situations, even ones the artist had no part in.
If you are a minor experiencing addiction and you feel very strongly about using my addiction-related blinkies, know that I cannot stop you, but also know why I would wish to stop you in the first place.
